Still one of the best kept secrets in the French Alps most people overlook St Foy for the near by Super resorts of Tignes and Val D'Isere. With only four lifts this small resort disguises it's limitless options well, it's plentiful north facing slopes keeping the snow good for weeks after a snowfall. In my opinion one of the best snowboard mountains in Europe with everything from epic bad weather trees, pillow lines, open powder fields, steeps and of course the famous Foglietta one of my favourite itineraries in the Alps.
Course
The aim of our Backcountry Freeride courses is to ride as much powder as possible whilst working on backcountry safety skills and improving the way you read and ride natural terrain. Backcountry snowboarding is about good tactical decisions on the mountain, where to stop how much speed to carry, which line to take. This week will give you the confidence you need.
Accommodation
Now in our 9th year of partnering with the Whiteroom Chalet, they know how to look after you. You'll be staying in the beautiful Chalet Etoile de Foret within walking distance of the lift. Expertly looked after by Matt and Carona serving up first class breakfasts and dinners to keep you energised for the week.
Considerations
Be prepared for short boot packs most days (20mins), with one bigger day for the famous Foglietta (90mins) one of my favourite runs in the Alps . A good level of fitness and a reasonable amount of powder riding experience is required to get the most out of the week.
