Georgia is at the intersection of Europe and Asia, a former Soviet republic it's home to the southern Caucasus Mountains with some of the highest peaks in Europe. Famous for it's red wine, amazing cuisine and warm hospitality. The ski resort of Tetnuldi is in the north west area of Svaneti and boasts a modern ski lift system giving us access to high alpine terrain with plenty of short itinerary's to access untouched powder. Lift tickets are ridiculously cheap and the food and wine is world class.
Adventure
This trip is all about exploring everything Tetnuldi has to offer. With splitboards at our disposal we'll be prepared for anything. From morning spliboard trips to the lesser known areas often ending with a local taxi ride back to resort, to afternoon resort laps exploring the endless side hit opportunities. As always the aim is pure and simple to ride as much powder as possible and explore as much of Tetnuldi's amazing natural terrain and hidden Valleys.
Accommodation
We'll be spending a night exploring the delights of Tbilisi staying at a small boutique Hotel in the old town surrounded by bars and restaurants. In Mestia we'll be staying at a local Guesthouse close to the resort of Hatsvali and a taxi ride from the freeride mecca of Tetnuldi. The Guest House is in the remote town of Mestia which feels like the wild west with cows roaming the streets. Mestia has an amazing nightlife with traditional Georgian bands playing Svaneti folk music and some of the best cuisine you'll ever taste.
Considerations
Be prepared for a short boot packs most days, with one or two bigger days with around 600 vertical metres of hiking. A good level of fitness and a reasonable amount of powder riding experience is required to get the most out of the week.
