Andermatt is a traditional Swiss mountain village with plenty of historical charm right in the center of Swiss alps just over 2 hours bt train from Zurich airport. With a modern state of the art lift system that covers a vast amount of freeride terrain from Andermatt, Sedrun all the way to Disentis this is the perfect freeride destination. The famous Gemstock lift goes up to nearly 3000m with a vast expanse of in bound terrain to choose from and plenty of backcountry adventures to be had. We'll use the train to get around and discover the quieter corners of the valley.
Course
Our Splitboard Freeride course is all about maximising conditions and involves a bit of everything, shredding from the lift, short boot packs and splitboard touring days. Whatever the conditions throw at us we'll find the best powder possible! Focusing on splitboard touring skills, along with developing backcountry safety skills and the ability to read and ride natural terrain, this week is perfect for those looking to get a taste for splitboarding and those already bitten by the bug and looking to develop their backcountry and splitboarding skills. Typically we'll splitboard for 2 out of the 5 days depending on conditions.
Accommodation
Our accommodation is at the Mountain Lodge Hotel in Sedrun giving us a cental loaction to explore the big cable cars of Andermatt and the quieter resorts of Sedrun and Disentis.
